Record your homeschool day in under a minute.
At the end of the day — or during it — open the app and tap “What did we do today?” Type a quick entry like “Math: fractions workbook pages 12–14” or “Reading: Charlotte’s Web chapters 7–8.” That’s it. Your day is logged, organized by subject, and saved to your weekly record automatically.

Or skip the typing entirely.
Already have a lesson plan written on paper, printed from your curriculum, or scribbled on a sticky note? Take a photo. One Room Schoolhouse reads it and imports your plan directly — no retyping required. This is the Snap & Plan feature, and it’s the fastest way to go from paper plan to digital record.

Grade worksheets with your camera.
This is the feature homeschool parents didn’t know they needed. When your child finishes a worksheet, snap a photo. The app’s AI reads their answers, checks them against the correct ones, and returns a score with details on what they got right and wrong. No more digging through answer keys at 9 PM.

See your whole week — for every child — at a glance.
The weekly view shows each day’s completed activities across all your students. Color-coded by subject, organized by child. You can see patterns: Are you hitting math every day but science is slipping? Is one child ahead in reading while another needs more support? The app makes it visible without you having to build a tracking system.

Plan ahead or don’t — it works either way.
Some families plan every lesson a week in advance. Others wake up and follow the day’s energy. One Room Schoolhouse supports both. Schedule assignments for the week and check them off as you go, or simply record what happened after the fact.
There’s no wrong way to use it.

For the planner
You’ve mapped out your year, your curriculum is chosen, and you want a clean digital system to schedule assignments and track completion for every child across every subject. One Room Schoolhouse gives you a weekly planning grid where you assign work, check it off, and watch your progress build over time.

For the improviser:
You follow your children’s interests and the rhythm of real life. Tuesday became a nature study because there was a hawk in the backyard. Thursday was all baking because fractions make more sense with measuring cups. You need a way to capture what happened without pretending you planned it. Just tap, type, done.

For the somewhere-in-between mom:
You have a loose framework but life happens. The dentist appointment eats into math time. The baby didn’t nap. Your second grader finished three days of reading in one sitting. You need an app that flexes with your actual life — not a rigid system that makes you feel like you’re failing when the day doesn’t go as planned.

Yes — all of them. One Room Schoolhouse works with any boxed curriculum, online program, Charlotte Mason approach, classical model, unschooling style, or mix-and-match plan. You’re not locked into anyone else’s lesson structure. Just record what you actually did, however you did it.
That’s exactly who this is for. If your kids learned about tide pools because you went to the beach, you can log that in seconds. The app is built around real homeschool days — not idealized ones. Planners and improvisers are equally welcome.
I'm a planner girl, so this speaks to my heart. But what I found was that any time I tried to plan long term, someone would get sick and I'd find myself manually moving all the lesson plans around--a big pain after all that work! Plus, I was still using my phone to take pictures and keeping piles of old worksheets around to track progress. This app solves both all of those problems. It keeps (and GRADES) you're kids' schoolwork with just a photo, so you don't need to store it physically somewhere, and the lesson plans shift to the next school day automatically whenever you need them to. Now you can take those impromptu field trips without any stress.
Snap a photo of your child’s completed worksheet with your phone camera. The app reads the answers, checks them, and gives you a score — in seconds. No answer keys to dig up, no squinting at handwriting after bedtime. It handles math worksheets, spelling tests, and more. And then it stores the worksheet image for you so you don't have to keep piles of papers around.
It’s a web app — it works on your phone, tablet, or computer through your browser. No app store download required. Just log in and go.
Yes. You can track all your kids in one place, each with their own subjects and progress. Whether you have two students or seven, you see everyone’s week at a glance without flipping between tabs or notebooks.
We think so! We're a "profit-lite" company, committed to bringing cutting edge tech to you at an affordable price. Most homeschool parents spend 3–5 hours a week on planning, tracking, and grading. If One Room Schoolhouse saves you even one of those hours, that’s your time back for about $2 a week. And you can try it free before you commit.
Your children’s schoolwork and records are private and encrypted. We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t share information with third parties. You own your data — always.
One Room Schoolhouse logs daily activities by subject with dates — exactly the kind of documentation most states want to see. Whether you need attendance records, portfolio evidence, or a simple activity log, your data is organized and accessible whenever you need it.
If you can take a photo with your phone, you can use this app. There’s no setup wizard, no curriculum database to configure, no learning curve. Tap “What did we do today?” and start recording.

Why Homeschool Families Choose
One Room Schoolhouse
It replaces three tools with one. Most homeschool parents juggle a paper planner, a spreadsheet for records, and mental math for grading. One Room Schoolhouse handles planning, daily recording, and worksheet grading in a single app — so you’re not copying information between systems or losing track of what happened last Tuesday.
It doesn’t assume how you teach. Unlike planner apps that require you to set up curriculum databases, import publisher lesson plans, or configure grading scales before you start, One Room Schoolhouse works the moment you open it. No setup. No onboarding quiz. Tell it what you did today and you’re done.
It respects your time. You’re already teaching your kids, managing your home, and probably doing twelve other things. This app is designed to take less than sixty seconds a day. If you have more time, you can plan ahead, review the week, and dig into the grading tool. If you don’t, a quick daily log is enough.
It’s built by a homeschool parent. One Room Schoolhouse wasn’t designed by an edtech company guessing at what families need. It was built by a mom who has lived the daily reality of homeschooling multiple children — the impromptu lessons, the unfinished workbooks, the days that look nothing like the plan.
Every feature exists because a real homeschool family needed it.

I built this app because I was tired of erasing.
I'm a mom of four. I've been homeschooling for what feels like forever. And for most of that time, I was a planner girl. I loved my planners — the fresh pages, the color coding, the satisfying little checkboxes.
But here's what nobody tells you about homeschool planners:
real life doesn't follow the plan.
Someone gets sick on Tuesday. The library trip turns into a three-hour nature walk. Your toddler eats the math manipulatives. And suddenly you're erasing, rewriting, erasing, rewriting — until your beautiful planner looks like a crime scene.
So I tried going digital. I found apps that could store records, but they either cost a small fortune or felt like they were designed by someone who had never actually homeschooled a child. Too rigid. Too complicated. Too many fields for things that don't matter and no space for the things that do.
And then there was grading.
I hate grading worksheets. I tried handing that job to my husband. He hated it too. (He lasted about a week.)
I kept thinking: there has to be a better way to do this. Something that lets me capture what we actually did — quickly, without guilt, without a system that makes me feel like I'm falling behind. Something that works whether I planned the week down to the minute or we just followed the kids' curiosity and ended up dissecting a grasshopper on the kitchen table.
So I built it.
One Room School House is the app I wished existed for the last ten years. It takes less than a minute to log your day. It reads your handwritten plans so you don't have to retype them. It grades worksheets with your phone camera so nobody in this house has to do it. And it works no matter how you homeschool — because there's no wrong way to do this.
Any curriculum. No curriculum. All styles welcome.
